Second release Precincts
Five additional Precincts in the Growth Centres were released for Precinct Planning in October 2009 by Planning Minister Kristina Keneally
The five precincts are Austral (8,000 dwellings) and Leppington North (12,000 dwellings) in the South West Growth Centre and Box Hill (10,000 dwellings), Box Hill Industrial (employment land) and Schofields (5,000 dwellings) in the North West Growth Centre.
These new releases will provide land for around 35,000 new dwellings and 200 hectares of employment land.
This means on completion of detailed Precinct Planning, activity in the Growth Centres will help improve the housing market and allow lot production to commence, bringing land to market sooner.
